Film Transfer to Video

Here's the Place to Convert That Old 8 or 16mm Film to Video

"Hey Honey, where are those old movies?"

So many of us have one of those old cardboard boxes, maybe a shoe box, tucked away in a closet or in the attic. And it's full of those little rolls of 8mm film that we used to watch on those long nights before TV and before the projector broke. Movies that bring back happy memories of the good times we spent together.

Camping trips we enjoyed as a family ...

Now they just sit there, mouldering away. One of these days the heat of the attic or the damp cold of the cellar will finish them off. The acetate dries out. The mold eats away at the dyes that make the image. And soon those memories will be gone forever.

...cookouts in the back yard ...

Before that happens it's a good idea to convert those images to video. Not only will you save them for posterity, but now you'll be able to give each of your children a copy of the family history that was recorded on those little rolls.

...that trip to the dude ranch ...

All you need to do is to gather them together, try to put them in some kind of order, and send or bring them to us. Just mark the sequence on the little boxes or on stick-on labels. If you have lots of reels, you might want to break them down by themes - for instance family vacations, or family Christmases, or children's birthdays, or any other grouping that makes sense to you.

... the great fishing trip ...

We'll check out every foot of your film, clean it, cut out blank or black sections, splice it together on 200 or 400-foot reels, and convert it to VHS video.

... watching the shuttle launch ...

We'll color correct it as best we can, add music if you like, and add graphic titles to tell your story, just like in the movies. (The first two titles are free. Added titles are just $4.00 each.)

"Let's send 'em to KTA Video."

And the cost? Well, the base charge is $50.00. Each foot of film is then just $0.10 (ten cents). This means that after the base charge, each of those little three-inch reels is $5.00. And we only charge you for the good film that we transfer. You don't pay for the black or clear film that we remove.

"I'll drop them off at the post office tomorrow."

Just pack them up and ship them to:

KTA Communications, Inc.
338 Coburn Ave.
Worcester, MA 01604

Or, if you're in the area, you can just bring them in. We'd love to meet you.

"Great, I'm dying to see them."
